It’s a family thing!
Ian and Debbie Alexander have a passion for the provision of excellence in hospitality and proven history in owning and developing some of South Australia’s most iconic award winning hotels. The Hahndorf Old Mill is the first project away from the river for Ian and Debbie who were the masterminds behind the major redevelopments of both the Swan Reach Hotel and the Pretoria Hotel at Mannum. As passionate South Australians the Alexanders are keen to incorporate their skills and experience and inject their personal flair into this icon of the Adelaide Hills.
Their daughters Madeleine and Emily are also important contributors to the business. Both girls have a strong commitment to customer service, like their parents and if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of Madeleine in traditional German attire on Hofbrauhaus Sunday at the Hahndorf Old Mill. After purchasing the complex in 2011, the Alexanders appointed Craig Fromm in the role of Manager. Craig has worked with Ian and Deb for a number of years in different positions at both Swan Reach and Mannum and whilst not technically related is definitely considered family. Like Madeleine, Craig likes to be part of the action and enjoys hamming it up with the staff at the regular Hofbrahaus events on the last Sunday of each month.
Ian, Deb and Craig love pub culture and understand the importance of customer service and the age old tradition of a drink in the bar with friends and invite you to join them at the Hahndorf Old Mill Hotel.
